Firefighters were called in to rescue a woman from a private ambulance car after it was involved in a crash on the A2 this afternoon.
The driver managed to drive her vehicle, a 4 x 4 Peugeot, to the ambulance bay at Darent Valley Hospital after the accident, which happened just before 4.30pm.
Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to cut off the roof and free her and she was passed into the care of paramedics.
A police spokesman said they were informed of the incident, but did not attend.
