It seems like we’ve been written off for automatic promotion after Saturday’s draw with Exeter and I can understand that.

We need to win our last two games and hope that Leeds and Millwall slip up in their own remaining matches but that’s not an impossible scenario - after all, we’ve got Leeds at The Valley this Saturday and Millwall have a tough final match of the season against Swindon.

But we have to focus on our result first. If everything works out in our favour and we haven’t taken care of our own business, then we will only have ourselves to blame.

I grabbed my fourth goal of my loan spell last weekend, and although some people have questioned whether the ball crossed the line, there was no doubt in my mind.

I’d have liked to have hit my shot a bit more truly but it was enough and the ball was over the line, as the assistant referee spotted, when their player cleared it.

There was also another chance I could have done better with, so I wasn’t completely happy after the game, especially because we didn’t get the win we wanted.

But I was pleased to make an impact when I came on because I wasn’t sure if I would be able to play due to my ankle – the medical staff did well to get me fit in time.

I’m raring to go again this weekend, and although we’ve got a good squad with some good players, I’m itching for the manager to give me that shirt to face Leeds.

They are a good side, as they’ve showed throughout the season and in the FA Cup in particular.

But when we get the ball down and play, which should be increasingly often as the pitches improve in the good weather, we look a great side. We shouldn’t fear anyone; the opposition should fear us.

People keep saying we haven’t scored more than one goal in a game in our past seven matches but it’s not been through a lack of effort, particularly in recent weeks.

The Norwich keeper, Fraser Forster, had a blinder against us a fortnight ago and the woodwork and a goalline clearance denied us last weekend. That kind of luck can’t continue, and we’ve seen in football that these things can suddenly turn – I’m not sure I would want to be facing us at the moment.

We’ve secured our place in the play-offs but we have to keep pushing for automatic promotion. That way, even if the margin is too great, we are well prepared for the play-offs.

Saturday’s match is a big game and everyone wants to be a part of it because these games don’t come around a lot.

There will be a great atmosphere, with Leeds knowing they could gain promotion if they win. But after Norwich the other week, the last thing we want is for another club to celebrate promotion on our pitch.
