More than a mile of congestion has formed before J3 for the M20 Swanley Interchange, as well queues on the A2 near Gravesend and the Tollgate services.

It comes after a crash just before the tunnel at J31 in Essex, which stopped traffic for an hour.

There are also delays through Dartford, Greenhithe and Darenth.

National Highways said: " Essex Police have just released traffic and all lanes are open. It will take time for traffic to get moving but rest assured the carriageway is open. Thanks for your patience."

Police have been contacted for more information.
