Motorists are facing long queues on the M25 after an accident where a car aquaplaned in the wet conditions.
Traffic was temporarily held following the collision at the Swanley Interchange junction 3 heading clockwise.
Traffic officers went to the scene and the carriageway has since been cleared - but there are problems on the other side of the motorway.
There is queuing traffic for seven miles on the anticlockwise carriageway approaching the Dartford Tunnel due to two earlier brief hold ups.
The congestion stretches back to junction 3 for the Swanley Interchange and travel time is about 45 minutes.
Police warned: "Please ensure you drive to the conditions and illuminate your headlights."
