Drivers were facing delays of 90 minutes on the M25 after a broken down lorry caused the closure of the East-bore Tunnel, at the Dartford Crossing.
All traffic was diverted via the West-bore Tunnel, and queues were expected on the anti-clockwise M25 approach from J3 (M20 Swanley Interchange).
The East-bore Tunnel has now reopened following recovery of the vehicle.
Long delays remain on the M25 anticlockwise approach to Dartford Tunnel, with queues back towards J4 (Orpington)
Delays also remain in and around Dartford town centre routes.
Drivers are therefore being asked to allow extra time for their journeys.
Emergency services were in attendance when the incident took place at 6.37am today.
