A spillage near the Dartford Crossing which closed one of the tunnels has now cleared.
There were queues of up to six miles as officers worked to clear the road after the incident just before 8am.
Two lanes were closed on the anticlockwise carriageway between junction 1a for Dartford and Junction 31a for Lakeside.
The traffic was as far back as the Swanley Interchange.
At 11.13am, National Highways South East tweeted: "The Eastbore tunnel at #DartfordCrossing is now open and the spillage has been cleared. However, there are residual delays of 90 minutes above the usual travel times on approach. We do expect these delays to now ease. Thank you."
