Delays on M25 as air ambulance called to serious crash involving a motorcycle near Dartford Crossing

Drivers are facing two-hour delays on the M25 due to a serious crash involving a motorcycle.

The A282 had been closed in both directions at junction 1B near the Dartford Crossing.

The clockwise carriageway remains closed with traffic leaving the first exit after crossing the QEII Bridge but the anticlockwise carriageway is now open.

All emergency services are in attendance, including the air ambulance which has been spotted at the scene.

National Highways is reporting two hour delays on the clockwise carriageway heading back into Kent with 45 minute queues headed anti-clockwise towards the tunnel.

It added that there is no estimated time for the road to re-open and is likely to be shut for the rest of the evening.

Police say they were called shortly after 2.30pm.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Motorists are advised that the A282, near Dartford is closed in both directions following a serious collision.

“Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service are at the scene where both carriageways are currently closed.

“The air ambulance is also in attendance and motorists should plan their journeys accordingly.”

The air ambulance service has been approached for more information.
