Yesterday (July 25), officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Dartford on suspicion of animal cruelty and driving without a licence or insurance.

He has since been released on bail until Friday, October 25.

Sergeant Ross Haybourne said: “This was a distressing incident which has caused considerable concern in the local community.

“We will always investigate reports where wildlife may have been harmed deliberately and I would urge anyone who has information that may assist our enquiries to contact us.”

Wildlife rescuer Carly Ahlen attended the scene to try and relieve the birds suffering but said the geese “had all died in the space of the five minutes it took me to get there”.
