A man who was arrested after a car which was suspected to have been stolen failed to stop for officers, has been bailed.
The man, who is 27 but has not been named, was arrested after the vehicle failed to stop for police in Dartford on Friday night.
Officers on routine patrol in Trevithick Drive, became suspicious of the car which was seen being driven erratically and they indicated for the driver to stop.
However, the car continued to Page Close, Bean where it collided with a fence and a parked car at about 12.15am.
The driver got out of the vehicle and fled to nearby gardens but was found apprehended by officers nearby.
A spokesman for police Martin Very said: "A 27-year-old man of no fixed address was later arrested in Bramble Avenue at 12.49am on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police officers, failing stop after a collision, driving without a licence, drug driving and possession of controlled drugs.
"He remains in police custody while the investigation is ongoing."
On Sunday morning police revealed the man arrested had been released pending further investigation.
