Ian Hendrie charged after bomb hoax at his home in Coleridge Road, Dartford

A man allegedly made a bomb threat and assaulted a number of police officers after a search of his home revealed it was a hoax.
Ian Hendrie, 55, is said to have claimed he had an explosive device at his home in Coleridge Road, Dartford, and officers attended at 9pm on Friday.
No explosives were found during an extensive search of the property and he was arrested.
Hendrie has been charged with communicating false information about a bomb, which is an offence under the Criminal Law Act 1977, plus five counts of assaults against police officers and one count of criminal damage to a custody cell.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court today and will be at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday.
