Man dies after Dartford Crossing incident

A man has died following an incident on the Dartford Crossing.
Traffic was held on the QEII Bridge from around 5.20pm yesterday (May 17) after “concerns for someone”.
The ambulance service and police attended the incident, which happened along the A282 southbound.
Drivers heading into Kent were experiencing long queues as a result.
At the time, National Highways warned there were up to 60 minutes of delays.
It is understood traffic was released just over an hour later.
Essex Police has since confirmed a man has died following the incident. His family have been told.
A spokesperson added: “As part of our response to this incident, traffic was held for a time and we would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding.”
