Teen due in court after 'hit-and-run' at Texaco petrol station in West Kingsdown

A teenager has been remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates this morning charged with four offences.
The court hearing comes after petrol station worker Lekshmanan Asokkumar, 58, from Lamberhurst, was allegedly hit by a car on a garage forecourt on the A20 in West Kingsdown.
Joshua Charnley, 19, who was arrested along with a teenage girl in Chatham during the early hours of Friday, August 2 , has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving, theft of fuel and driving with no insurance.
The teen of no fixed address appeared before Maidstone Magistrates Court for a short hearing today.
The girl, who is from Chatham, has been bailed until August 23.
Mr Asokkumar is still critically ill in hospital, but his condition is said to be improving.
