A suspected prison absconder was arrested after reports a man was seen brandishing a gun.
Eli King was arrested on Sunday, December 2, after police were tipped off about suspicious activity in the woodland near Castle Road, Eynsford.
Officers were called to the area just before 9pm to reports of concern a man was seen carrying a weapon.
Following a search they found King, seized an air rifle, and arrested him for allegedly possessing a firearm in a public place.
Further inquiries found King, 28, of no fixed address, was wanted after he allegedly absconded from HMP Ford prison, in West Sussex, in September.
He was charged with being unlawfully at large and being possessing a firearm and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court later today.
