Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the scene between the A259 junction and Northpoint Beach at 2.15pm, after a red Suzuki bike and a Ford Ranger collided.

The driver and a woman passenger in the Ford Ranger sustained suspected back injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Mr Dennis, 39, died at the scene.

Friends and family have since left dozens of tributes in a Facebook group called R.I.P Curtis Dennis.

Group creator Andrew Farrance said: "Curtis was the guy that came to pick up bikes.

"He was such a nice fella, he became mates with anyone.

"He was the sort of fella you felt like you knew for years and years and would always be calling saying 'sun's out, bikes out' at 7am after washing his bike. Enjoy them roads up there mate."

Mr Farrance also posted after visiting the scene on Easter Sunday the following day adding: "Today we come to say goodbye to you at the place you last laid.

"It was probably the hardest thing I’ve had to do but needed to come say goodbye!"

He added: "Till we ride again my brother, Love you."
