Martin Welsh ready to show what he can do against Rick Godding

Martin Welsh will be out to put his name back in the limelight on Saturday night when he meets unbeaten welterweight Rick Godding.
A year ago, Welsh, from Swanley, lost out on the English light middleweight title to Brian Rose and only returned to the ring last weekend.
In the last year, he has parted company with big-name promoter and manager Frank Maloney and switched trainers.
At the weekend, the cobwebs were blown off with a points victory over tough Pole, Tomasz Mazurkiewicz and Welsh is now ready to show what he can do on the Sky Sports show at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
His Bolton-based opponent has won all 15 fights so far.
"I will give him a good test and I’m confident that I’m not going to lose," said Welsh. "I just have to turn up and enjoy it. If I can beat him then who knows what I can do? It will open up doors for me."
Welsh (pictured) emerged unscathed from his meeting with Mazurkiewicz, an opponent brought in at short notice.
"I’ve got the rustiness off now with that fight and this one is the big one now," said the 29-year-old.
