A football match held in memory of a father and son killed in a car crash has raised more than £15,500 for the air ambulance.
Dartford dad Andy Hoyle died at the scene of the incident on the A267 in Frant in August and his two-year-old son Joshua died in hospital nine days later.
In their memory and to thank the air ambulance for helping give them nine extra days with Joshua, their family organised the charity football and family fun day fundraiser at Crayford Arrows Football Club last month to support the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance (KSSAA) charity.
Andy's brothers Shane and Ian set up the event with the help of the family's friends and Andy's former Sainsbury's colleagues, where he worked night shifts.
Shane said the "turnout was amazing" and he had been left "really overwhelmed" by the support shown to the family who would be "forever grateful" they were able to spend a few extra days spending precious time and saying goodbyes to Joshua before he died.
"There are too many people to thank but we are eternally grateful for all their support," Shane added.
"Andy and Joshua would be so proud of what we have all achieved."
Although the KSSAA team lost on the day 7-3, Shane says the day was a huge success.
Speaking ahead of the event on October 24, Shane said: "The air ambulance got my nephew to the hospital so quickly, so we had more time with him.
"If it wasn't for them, we probably wouldn't have had those nine days. We will be forever grateful to them for that time we had. It meant a lot.
"They don't get any government funding, they rely on donations from the likes of you and me. By raising money it will give someone else that chance in their hour of need."
