Miles of queues on anti-clockwise M25 after pile-up between Junction 3 at Swanley and Junction 2

An accident involving multiple cars and a motorbike resulted in miles of queues on the M25.

The crash happened on the anti-clockwise carriageway between Junction 3 for Swanley and Junction 2 at the Darenth Interchange.

The accident resulted in the closure of the inside lane but it was reopened as of 1.20pm.

There was already congestion for traffic heading towards the Dartford Tunnel.

Motorists heading in the opposite direction were also delayed by people slowing to look at the accident.

The tailbacks on the anti-clockwise side stretched back for six miles but have since cleared.
