Fire crews sent to Pinden recycling centre in Longfield near Dartford

More than 20 firefighters were called to a late-night blaze at a recycling centre.
Six fire engines were sent to Pinden in Longfield, near Dartford.
The alarm was raised at 11.19pm yesterday (August 24) after flames were spotted at the site off the B260 Green Street Green Road in Longfield.
A fire service spokesman said: “Six fire engines and a bulk water carrier attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the flames.
“Crews dampened down any hotspots and will revisit in the early hours of tomorrow morning (August 26) to ensure it remains safe.
“There were no reported injuries, and the cause is not yet known.”
