The M25 has been re-opened in both directions after a horsebox overturned.
Drivers between Junctions 4 and 5 were at a standstill after the incident, which took place at about 12.30pm today.
Efforts to quickly alleviate traffic were hampered due to a horse inside the vehicle, which motorists rushed to help.
Emergency services attended the scene where one clockwise lane is still closed. Long delays are still expected in the area, where traffic was held up for 40 minutes.
The horse was unhurt by the accident.
