Murder investigation after George Barker stabbed to death outside Double K Gym

A young Kent man has been stabbed to death outside a martial arts gym in south London.

George Barker from the South Darenth was found at the Double K Gym in Stable Lane, Bexley.

Mr Barker, who was 24, was found suffering from serious stab wounds and died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination has been held.

It revealed he died as a result of stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.

No arrests have been made and the Met Police have launched a murder investigation as tributes pour in.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating and anyone with information is asked to call 0208 345 3985, the police non-emergency line on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The gym specialises in Thai boxing and Mixed Martial Arts.

Head coach and owner Kieran Keddle trained Idris Elba for professional kickboxing fights but has now closed the gym until further notice, following Mr Barker's death.
