A director who led a project to build new council homes has had some of them named after her, to honour her 34 years' service.
The six new apartments make up Sheri Court, a tribute to Sheri Green, who retired last year from her work as a strategic director.
Sheri created and led the council’s new-build programme which helped provide the first council houses to be built in Dartford for 25 years.
At the building's inauguration in Swanscombe, she said: "It was an honour to be invited to see these homes finished and ready for local people to move into.
"I was definitely surprised to hear that the project was being named after me, but it’s truly a privilege and I feel proud to be connected to such a brilliant and important project for local people."
Councillors and contractors also attended the event, together with Mayor of Dartford, Cllr Paul Cutler, and leader of the council Cllr Jeremy Kite (Con), who said: "It’s wonderful that we’ve been able to provide this high-quality social housing. Local people deserve the best opportunities and that’s what we have been able to deliver here.
"We have similar projects under way in other parts of Swanscombe to ensure that more people in our borough can access a high standard of housing.
He added: "Housing is a big, big concern for people – particularly the young and those starting out on the housing ladder – and we are proud to be overseeing the delivery of more social housing than most other councils.
"Dartford families deserve decent homes to help them lead decent lives."
The development in Keary Road includes two one-bed and four two-bedroom homes.
It also features parking with electric vehicle points and flats overlook community gardens.
All apartments have been allocated to households with strong connections to Dartford and residents are set to move in later this month.
The council expects to create 23 more council homes in Swanscombe over the next 12 to 18 months.
