Tributes have been paid to a 40-year-old newsagent from Dartford who has lost his life to coronavirus.
Dad-of-two Krishnasamy Chiyamalan, who worked at Templeton News in Temple Hill Square, died at his home on Saturday.
It is understood he is one of the first newsagents in the UK to die from the deadly illness.
As well as his wife Gopika, he is survived by two children.
Head of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents Stuart Reddish has led the tributes to Mr Chiyamalan.
"It is with great sadness we report the death of one of our north Kent members and our thoughts and sympathies are with his wife and family at this time."
Mr Chiymalan had been a member of the North West Kent branch and South East district since last summer.
Mr Reddish also paid tribute to all independent retailers for their positive response during the endemic.
He said that alongside their newspaper deliveries, many members were delivering essential goods to elderly and vulnerable customers and to people who were self isolating.
