British Olympic cycling star Jason Kenny back at Brands Hatch

07:58, 25 August 2017

Olympic cycling superstar Jason Kenny is returning to Brands Hatch next month for a 24-hour endurance event.

The six-time gold medallist was at the motor circuit in September last year for Revolve24 and enjoyed it so much that he is coming back for more.

Revolve24, which launched with Kenny’s help in 2015, boasts a range of cycling challenges to suit all ages and abilities, headlined by a 24 hour race featuring professional teams.

Kenny, who claimed a British record-equalling sixth gold medal in Rio last summer, said: “I really enjoy Revolve24. It’s a definite challenge, both off the track, trying to look after yourself throughout the weekend, as well as getting stuck in on the track. There’s a great atmosphere here and it’s good fun.”

He will be raising money for the RNLI during this year’s event, which takes across the weekend of Saturday, September 16.

Almost 1,000 cyclists are expected to turn out, including Kenny’s uncle and father-in-law Adrian Trott.

Wife and fellow Olympic champion Laura won’t be taking to the track as she is heavily pregnant with the couple’s first child.

Other participants include ex-England rugby union player Duncan Bell, who is riding in aid of mental health charity Headset, and world record-setting endurance cyclist James Golding.
