Person killed after being hit by train in Slade Green Erith between London Bridge and Dartford

A person has died after being hit by a train.
The individual was struck in Slade Green, near Erith, at about 5pm yesterday between London Bridge and Dartford.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Erith railway station shortly after 5pm yesterday on Tuesday, September 19, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene," they told News Shopper.
Explaining the incident would cause long delays on social media website X yesterday, Southeastern posted: “A person has been hit by a train.
“Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations will be closed – Disruption is expected until 20:00.
“Electricity is currently switched off to allow safe access to the railway for the emergency services.”
The firm said in a message to customers the incident caused major disruption to its services and all trains were to be canceled or delayed.
The line was reopened shortly after 8pm.
