Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at a petrol station.

Police say two men went into the Harvest petrol station in London Road, Swanley, at about 7pm on Bank Holiday Monday and demanded money from a cashier.

No money was taken but during the incident but the worker was assaulted and threatened with a gun, but he didn't suffer any serious injuries.

Following the incident, the two suspects fled on foot.

The first offender was slim and wearing a royal blue coat with the hood up along with dark leggings and his face was covered.

The second offender was wearing a khaki coat with the hood up and also had his face covered.

Armed officers attended the scene and searched the area with dogs and arrested two men, a 25-year-old and a 32-year-old who are from Swanley.

Detectives say they have since been released, pending further inquiries.

Police spokesman, James Walker, said: "Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone with information on the incident and they would also like to obtain dash cam footage from motorists travelling in the area at the time."
