The police have called on residents to be vigilant after reports of two men claiming to be police officers and targeting elderly people.
Officers received a report at 10.20pm on Tuesday, January 9, claiming that two men had knocked on the door of a house in Chichester Road, Greenhithe.
The two men claimed to be police officers and were banging on the window and door, demanding to be let in.
The victims, an elderly couple, shouted telling the men to go away which they eventually did.
The couple then found that their back garden gate had been opened in an attempt to try and gain entry to the house.
On Wednesday, January 10, it was reported that two men attended an elderly person’s house in Fulwich Road, Dartford, at around 9pm.
One man is reported to have waited outside while another gained entry to the house through the front door.
When inside the house the man went into the victim’s living room and said they were from the force.
The suspect, who was dressed all in black, then asked for money and jewellery.
The man removed the victim’s emergency ‘lifeline’ necklace during the incident so the victim was not able to alert anyone.
The necklace was left in the property before the man left without taking any items.
The suspect has been described as being white and aged in his 40’s.
He was of medium build and around 6ft ins tall and was dressed all in black and wearing a black woolly hat.
In the Chichester Road incident the suspect was described as of a similar description to the suspect above.
The second man has been described as white, aged between 40 and 50, and of a bigger build with roughly the same height.
He was also described as wearing a black bobble hat and had a scarf wrapped around his face, along with wearing dark clothing.
