A team from the Rural Task Force were called to the High Street in Bean after members of the public reported spotting the equine escapee.

Upon being discovered on the ‘mane’ road, the young horse was unable to ‘foal’ officers who duly took it into protective custody.

Officers are now trying to track down the owner of the foal, which is white with black markings.

A spokesman said on twitter: “Rural Task Force officers seized a foal found wandering in the road at High Street, Bean, Dartford.

“If you are the owner of this foal or you have information which will help us identify the owner, please contact Kent Police quoting CAD 18-0877.”

This is not the first time recently that an escaped horse has caused drama in Kent – or indeed near Dartford.

In September, another hoofed freedom-seeker created chaos on the A2 after getting out of its horse-box.

A lane had to be closed near the Bean interchange while police worked to get the horse back to safety.
