A van smashed into five parked cars in an accident earlier today

Police were called to The Brent, Dartford at around 7am.

The road was temporarily shut as officers dealt with the incident.

The force with which the van hit the cars was enough to shunt them into surrounding gardens.

A search has also begun for the driver, who fled the scene.
