Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is to undergo heart surgery, after cancelling their latest tour.
The ageing rocker, 75, is set to have a damaged valve replaced and will undergo the surgery after cancelling the band's latest tour.
The rock icon, who is from Dartford is set to have a damaged valve replaced during the operation in a New York City hospital this week.
Jagger was a pupil at Wentworth Primary School in Dartford where he had met Keith Richards but the pair had lost touch after he passed his 11-plus and won a place at Dartford Grammar School.
Jagger and his band was forced to postpone the nine-week ‘No Filter’ tour across Canada and America.
The Rolling Stones have previously revealed doctors advised him not to go on stage, weeks before the tour was due to start next month in Miami.
Jagger should be fully recovered and back on stage by summertime, according to the American Drudge Report website which revealed the news of the surgery earlier today.
