Commuters facing Friday rush-hour chaos on the county's motorways can expect lengthy delays at the Dartford Crossing and tailbacks on the M2 and M20.

There is five miles of queuing traffic on the M25 anticlockwise before the Dartford Tunnels and congestion to J3 M20 at the Swanley interchange.

Travel time is estimated to be around 40 minutes.

A broken down car at J1B on the A282, Dartford, is also causing heavy traffic on the M25.

The anticlockwise lane is closed on the exit slip road and lane two is also closed.

Traffic heading through the Dartford Tunnels is struggling.

A broken down van which was causing delays on the M25 clockwise from J5 M26 to J6 A22, has now been removed but one lane remains closed.

On the M20 London bound from J3 M26 to J2 A20 London Road, by Brands Hatch, one lane is closed and there is slow traffic due to an accident.

One of three lanes is closed.

On the M2 coastbound there is also queueing traffic for five miles due to accident on from J3, Chatham and Rochester, to J4 A278 Hoath Way, Gillingham.

Travel time is around 20 minutes and reports suggest a vehicle has gone into the central reservation.

There are still speed restrictions due to Operation Brock on the M20 where all freight traffic heading for a channel crossing must go through the coned area on the M20 coastbound between J8, by Leeds Castle and J9, Ashford.

All other traffic not heading for a channel crossing, or local East Kent freight must use the contraflow on the other side.

In Gravesend, the A226 Rochester Road in both directions is closed from Thong Lane to Chalk Road due to an accident on Rochester Road.
