A grammar school has been forced to close after a “flood” inside the building.
Wilmington Grammar School for Girls (WGSG), in Parsons Lane, Wilmington, near Dartford, has shut its doors to students today (Friday).
A statement on its website said it had closed “due to a flood in school”.
Parents also received an email alert at around 7.45am this morning warning them of the incident.
It read: “Due to a serious water leak in the main school, WGSG is closed today.
“All lessons will be live online lessons starting from period two.”
The statement added that Wilmington Grammar School for Boys was still open and sixth-form students with classes at the nearby school would still need to attend.
It is not known when the school will be reopening or what caused the water leak.
WGSG has been approached for further information.
