Train service stopped over dog report at Dartford station

The power to the tracks at Dartford station was turned off while a driver checked reports a dog had sneaked under his train.

Southeastern warned passengers of possible delays as the situation was dealt with.

The animal was soon rescued and reunited with its owner on the platform.

Full service resumed shortly after 7.30pm.

Southeastern said the power had to be cut as the safety of the dog, its owner and staff was paramount.
