There were severe delays on the M25 last night after two lanes had to be closed after a lorry shed its load.
Delays of up to an hour were reported with more than six miles of congestion while contractors worked to remove debris from the right-hand tunnel of the Dartford Crossing.
A large amount of rubble was blocking the carriageway.
Vehicles headed Essex-bound under the height of 15ft 9in were diverted to the west tunnel which remained open.
The road reopened just before midnight.
