It was at Central Park, Dartford and 20 supporters took part. It is estimated to have raised around £1,500 and money is still coming in.

Among those who joined them was the manager of Safestore Crayford Adam Wright whose father was helped by the YMCA after living on the streets for more than four years.

Adam said: “ The YMCA gave my dad a room, shower and a kettle – these little things bring back a sense of responsibility and self-worth which are priceless when you live on a street with no such amenities.

“The YMCA was also fundamental in helping to guide to other organisations to assist with the addiction problems my dad faced.”

He added: “It was a fantastic night. I was pleased to take part and raise funds for the YMCA which I have wanted to do for a long time.”

Safestore Crayford donated cardboard boxes to give participants some shelter.

The fundraisers were also provided with hot drinks and snacks throughout the night and treated to breakfast before heading home on Saturday morning.
