Part of the Dartford Crossing closed for safety in strong winds

Strong winds have seen emergency safety measures introduced at the Dartford Crossing.
Two lanes have been closed to traffic this morning on the QEII Bridge.
National Highways said the lanes have been "closed for safety in case vehicles get blown downwind into adjacent lanes".
The local traffic report said: "Two lanes closed due to strong winds on M25 QE2 Bridge clockwise from J31 A1306 to J1A A206."

Kent has been battered by strong winds and rain overnight.
The Met Office said there has been "a pulse of heavy rain sweeping eastwards on strong winds".
It is expected to be drier and brighter later today but isolated blustery rain showers will continue.
