A teenager has been charged with endangering safety on the railway after a woman’s hair was set on fire on a train.
The 15-year-old boy, from Swanley, will appear before magistrates next month over the incident on a train through Kent.
A Swedish teacher’s hair is caught fire, allegedly when a youth held out a lighter as she walked through the carriage.
She was on a school trip to England and making her way back to London with a group of students after a day out to Hastings on July 19.
It was only the screams of her pupils that alerted her to what was happening.
The teenager, who cannot be named because of his age, will appear at Hastings Youth Court on October 2.
Three other boys from Swanley, two aged 15 and another 16, are on British Transport Police bail until later this month.
