A vehicle spotted swerving across a road was being driven by a man who was more than twice the legal drink-drive limit.
The motorist was stopped by traffic officers in the Dartford policing area in the early hours of today.
A tweet by the Kent Police roads unit said a test registered 85 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35.
He also failed a drug test.
"Driver smelt of alcohol and provided breath sample over double legal limit in custody (85ug)," said the tweet.
"He also failed roadside drug test for Cannabis. #Fatal4 #Arrested."
Meanwhile, another driver is to be summonsed to court after being seen using his phone while behind the wheel on the A2, near Gravesend.
The roads unit tweeted: "#RPU1 had a busy night after witnessing the driver of this BMW using his phone whilst driving along the #A2 @KentPoliceGrav.
"Roadside check revealed he is disqualified until November 2022 for 'totting up' points for various offences. Summoned to court & vehicle seized."
