Swanscombe teenager in court after taxi driver 'robbed at knife-point' in Dartford

A teenager has appeared in court after allegedly attempting to rob a taxi driver at knife-point.

Police were called to Ingress Gardens, Dartford, on Friday, October 18, to reports the cabbie had been threatened with a knife and had his windows smashes.

Alex Griffith, of Pacific Close, Swanscombe, was arrested and charged with possessing a knife, attempted robbery and criminal damage on the same day.

The 18-year-old remanded in custody before appearing at Medway Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Following the hearing, he was released on bail to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.
