Two teenagers have been charged after a man was “threatened with a hammer" during a theft.
At 10.15pm last Thursday (June 20), it was reported a motorbike had been stolen from Esparto Way in South Darenth.
It was reported that four people wearing motorcycle helmets broke into a garage and took the vehicle – which was allegedly chained to the wall.
The suspects were disturbed by the owner of the property and reportedly threatened him with a hammer before leaving with the bike.
Two teenage boys were later arrested. A search led to the recovery of the motorbike, seizure of tools and a quantity of cannabis.
A 16-year-old boy from Gravesend has since been charged with robbery and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
A 17-year-old boy from Erith was also charged with robbery, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.
Both have been bailed pending a hearing at Medway Youth Court on Thursday, August 8.
