Pictures show thousands turn up to party at Dartford Festival last weekend

Festival-goers spiced up their lives with a weekend-long concert.

Top tribute bands were on the bill at the Dartford Festival in Central Park.

The fields were awash with deckchairs and picnic blankets as the crowds got ready for a party.

Top of the bill was Lightning Seeds, famed for football smash hit It’s Coming Home.

Everyone was a dancing queen for ABBA tribute band Bjorn again on Saturday.

Then Sunday saw Rochester resident and instrumentalist James Taylor, lead his quartet on to the stage.

The group are famed for being at the forefront of funky acid jazz music.

Tribute band Wannabe performed Spice Girls hits for the crowds.

Other musicians included The Farm, Oogie Boogie Band, The Who tribute band Who Are You UK and Rhythm of the 90s who previously performed at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Latitude.

The annual event is organised by Dartford council.

Cllr David Mote went to the festival on Sunday.

He said: “Dartford really does know how to party.

“I think the most important thing about this event is that the council have been managing to keep it running for so long.

“There were lots of people coming together as a community.

“It was an opportunity for businesses, charities and groups to show what they have to offer. All the sports clubs were there too.

“We’re so lucky that there is so much going on in Dartford, we’re running out of weekends to put events on.”
