Tony Burman is determined that his Dartford side finish their season on a high by securing a top 10 league finish and claiming some silverware.

The highest point of Darts’ debut season in Blue Square Bet South came with an accomplished 4-0 demolition of rivals Dover on Monday but Burman is desperate that the victory does not mark the end of the celebrations.

The win secured a top-half finish and Darts could yet finish as high as ninth depending on other results.

Saturday’s hosts Maidenhead need a point to be safe but Burman insists his side "won’t go easy" on them as they bid to overhaul 10th-placed Bromley, who handed them a 4-1 drubbing on Good Friday.

Burman (pictured) said: "We had an awful week with Boreham Wood, Havant and Bromley but we have to learn from our mistakes.

"We have a young team, people don’t realise that and the players are still learning, they’ll come back stronger. We had a lot of new players settling into the club.

"Hopefully we’ll be more settled next season, and we’ll look to improve where we can."

Victory could see Darts overhaul Bromley, whom they host in the Kent Senior Cup final on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm).

Burman said: "I would love to finish above them and win the final. We’ll do our best to make that happen."

Lee Burns (suspension) is Darts’ only absentee for the season finale.
