Commuters concerned about the New Year hike in rail fares may be considering relocating.
If so, they should look at Crayford, according to property sales website Zoopla.
The town has been ranked third in a list of "most affordable" commuter locations after rail fares rose by an average of 2.8%, based on mortgage and travel costs.
Grays in Essex topped the chart as the most affordable place for commuters working in London to buy a home.
The combined cost of a season ticket and mortgage repayments on an average property in the town - 41 minutes by train from the capital - were £15,008 a year.
But Crayford was not far behind at £15,662 a year.
Crayford station offers services to London Charing Cross via Hither Green, London Cannon Street via both Lewisham and Woolwich Arsenal as part of a loop service, and to Gravesend.
Crayford is also served by three Transport for London bus services, 96 to Woolwich via Bexleyheath and to Bluewater via Dartford, 428 to Erith and to Bluewater, and 492 to Sidcup via Bexleyheath and to Bluewater.
