Two men have been arrested after people reported seeing someone trying to get into several garages, and an officer was hurt in a collision.
People called police after seeing a man allegedly testing the locks of garages in the St Vincent’s Avenue area of Dartford at around 2.30am today.
Officers arrived at the scene and found two men sat in a van.
The men tried to drive away and collided with a police vehicle, causing one officer a minor injury.
The vehicle was followed to Thames Way where it came to a stop.
Officers found a number of mountain bikes in the back of the van and both men, a 31-year-old from Chatham and a 26-year-old from Gravesend, were arrested on suspicion of theft and burglary.
They remain in police custody.
