Suspected drug drivers were arrested after police stopped 30 cars during an operation.
Officers from Kent and Essex were stationed at the Dartford Crossing on Friday, as part of a road safety operation to target un-roadworthy vehicles.
But police also arrested two people on suspicion of drug driving.
A 23-year-old man from Abbey Wood, London, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cannabis and taken into custody.
He has since been released, pending further inquiries.
A 49-year-old man from Harlow was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cocaine and he has also been released, pending further enquiries.
Thirteen drivers were also reported for traffic offences.
This included six for seatbelt offences, three for number plates not conforming to specifications, two for defective tyres and a further two for driving without insurance.
Five drivers were also stopped and warned about speeding.
A further seven graduated fixed penalty notices, worth a combined £1,700, were issued for offences relating to excess vehicle weight and exceeding driver hours.
One vehicle was also seized for having no insurance.
Sgt Grant Steele, from Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: "Like many other departments in Kent Police, our team benefits from a close relationship with our counterparts in Essex.
"Sharing intelligence and partnership work is a fundamental part of policing and, as this day of action shows, helps achieve positive results for the people we serve."
