Could this rescue dog be Kent's biggest fan of TV's Albert Square... or should that be Howl-bert Square?

Chihuahua Jack Russell cross Honey was caught on camera howling along to the EastEnders theme tune.

It is hoped that the cute clip will help the seven-year-old pet find a new home, after being looked after by Battersea Brands Hatch for more than 400 days.

Honey is currently on foster and has been in the care of the rescue centre near Dartford more than 11 times longer than the average stay.

Michelle Bevan, Rehoming and Welfare Manager of Battersea Brands Hatch, said: “After spending such a long time in kennels, Honey is currently in a foster home whilst she waits to find her perfect owner.

"Her foster carer sent us a video of her howling along to the EastEnders theme tune and we thought this may be the perfect way for her to capture everybody’s attention.

"We don’t know why she took such a shine to EastEnders though.”

She added: "Honey is just as sweet as her name implies, especially once she builds a bond with you and she’ll be your best friend if you’re happy to play with her.

"She’s such a character – getting into bed, tucking herself in and lounging on the sofa. She loves to hide treats all over the house and her foster carer has even found them hidden under her pillow, in the bathroom and in her walking shoes!"
