A village fireworks event has been cancelled this year.
The annual event in Eynsford will not be taking place due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
It was set to be held on November 9 at Furlongs Farm, with the money raised set to be donated to local organisations within the village.
There were also plans for a hot dog stand, a raffle and a bar.
A spokesperson for the fireworks team said: “We are very sad to announce that the village fireworks show will not take place this year.”
This comes a week after Gravesham council confirmed it was also not running a firework display this year.
The local authority has not funded the display, which usually attracts thousands of people, for the past few years and has relied on sponsorship instead of using taxpayers’ money.
However, its most recent deal with Swale Heating ended in 2022 and the council has not been able to secure another supporter to fund the event since.
