The search is on to find a pet pooch to star in a romantic opera at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford.
Theatre bosses say the best dog could win a place in the spotlight in La Boheme, which is coming to the theatre in April.
Opera director and producer Ellen Kent said: “People say never work with children or animals but I love to do both.
“The first time was 20 years ago when my pet cat Holly Go-Lightly was in one of my productions and was an instant hit.

“Many years ago when we last did La Boheme and asked local people to volunteer their pets it was a huge success.”
The opera is coming to The Orchard on April 23 and for your pooch to have a chance of starring in the show it should be terrier-like in appearance, small and well-behaved.
The dog’s owner will need to be prepared to go on-stage in costume to look after him or her.
To audition your dog, send a photograph to Sadie Williams at sadie@ellenkent.co.uk
You need to include your contact number and address as well as the breed, height, weight, age and name of your dog.
If you are successful, you will be contacted a week before the performance.
To book tickets, visit orchardtheatre.co.uk or call 01322 220000.
