Woman taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by van in Ash Road, Longfield

A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a van earlier today.

Police were called to reports a vehicle had hit a pedestrian in Ash Road, near the junction with Station Road, in Longfield, at around 11.40am.

Paramedics from the ambulance service and air ambulance also attended the scene and took the woman to a London hospital.

Police spokesman James Walker said: "The pedestrian, a woman, is reported to have sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital."

A road closure has been put in place following the incident and drivers have been advised to use an alternative route.
