Dartford chalked up their first league win for more than three months on Tuesday night.

Goals from Max Cornhill (pictured) and on-loan Cambridge United striker Andy Pugh were enough to earn them all three points at Aggborough.

Whether their hosts, Kidderminster, had one eye on Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round tie against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, will matter not to manager Tony Burman and his battling side.

For this was a result which not only shocked the rest of the Skrill Premier but breathed new life into Dartford’s survival bid.

There was a Darts debut for striker Alex Wall, on loan from Luton, while new signing Ben Swallow was named among their four substitutes.

And the visitors made the perfect start, scoring inside three minutes, when Alex Woodyard’s cross was headed in by fellow midfielder Cornhill.

Jim Stevenson almost made it 2-0 when he side-footed over the bar from close-range, but Dartford did double their lead midway through the first half.

A shot from Wall was spilled by Harriers keeper Danny Lewis and Pugh pounced to tuck home the rebound.

And it could have been even better for Burman’s side when Wall hit the post, before skipper Elliot Bradbrook drew a fine save from Lewis.

The tide looked like it might be turning at the start of the second half when Michael Gash turned in Lee Vaughan’s cross at the back post.

Gash cracked a shot against the bar when goalkeeper Alan Julian flapped at an Adrian Cieslewicz corner, and Anthony Malbon had an effort blocked on the line in injury-time, but Kidderminster couldn’t deny Dartford their first win on the road since August.

This result leaves Burman's side two points behind Tamworth, the side immediately above them in the relegation dogfight, and six from safety, ahead of Saturday's home game against second-placed Cambridge United.
