Dartford captain Elliot Bradbrook has signed a new contract for next season.

The midfielder admitted this time last year that the 2013/14 season was likely to be his last as a Darts player because his work commitments were becoming incompatible with the extra travelling in Conference Premier.

But when Dartford were relegated back to Conference South in April, it inadvertently increased their chances of holding onto their inspirational skipper.

Bradbrook has scored 65 goals in 225 appearances since joining the Darts in 2009.

He told the club's website: "I have been here for five years, club captain for four years and I feel at home here. After so many successful years, what happened last season was heart-breaking and I feel a responsibility to the management team, the club and the supporters to stay and help get this club back to where it belongs."

Meanwhile, Tom Bradbrook, Elliot's younger brother, has rejoined the club six years after he left - meaning the siblings will play together for the first time next season.

Tom was part of the Dartford squad which won the Ryman League Division 1 North title in 2007/08. He scored six goals in 34 appearances, although he started 26 of those games on the bench.

Since then, he's played for Sittingbourne, Margate and Leatherhead - with whom he won promotion through the Ryman League Division 1 South play-offs earlier this month.

Elliot said: "Tom is an experienced and very talented striker who has scored a load of goals wherever he has played, and I am sure he will do the same at Dartford. We are very lucky to have him here."

Utility player Nathan Collier has also agreed a new deal at Princes Park. The 27-year-old made 40 appearances for the Darts last season, including 25 starts. Manager Tony Burman said Collier had decided to stay in spite of "interest from other Conference clubs."

Burman now has eight players signed up for next season after Lee Burns, Max Cornhill, Ryan Hayes, Lee Noble and Danny Harris all signed new contracts earlier this week.
